Easy Stick Wallpaper / Decal

PICK A SPOT

Pick a smooth, dry and clean surface –The most traditional places include any wall, door, window or vehicle (do not block windshield). When placing your Peel N Stick on a standard painted wall, make sure the wall has been previously primed prior to painting (otherwise the paint or adhesive may come off). Concerning newly painted surfaces, make sure you allow 30 days for out gassing preventing bubbling. If you place your Peel N Stick on a pebbly, textured surface that has used eggshell paint or a very porous surface (i.e. brick, cement walls, stucco), you may receive poor results, although it has worked in most cases. So you may want to test first for a couple of days. Avoid placement above fireplaces.

CLEAN IT BEFORE YOU STICK IT

Use a warm, damp cloth or sponge to clean the wall surface or window and allow it to completely dry. Make sure all previous cleaning solutions are completely gone. You can remove and replace the Peel N Stick multiple times; however, once the adhesive collects too much dust, dirt or fibers it will become less effective and Peel N Stick may not stick as well to your surface.

PEEL AND STICK IT

After unrolling your mural from the packaging, allow it to lay flat for at least an hour before installing. Depending on the size of your Peel N Stick, it may be helpful to have two people install it. Try not to let the adhesive come together, or let Peel N Stick fold up against itself. It’s okay if it does, you can separate it by carefully pulling it apart and you may want two people to do this on larger images. Start at the top of your Peel N Stick Image and pull down approximately 4-6” of the backer and crease the back of the backer. Simply apply the 4-6” of exposed adhesive area to your chosen location. It can be repositioned many times. Once your square then continue to slowly pull the backer downward in 4-6” increments, smoothing the Peel N Stick as you go. Depending on the size, it may be helpful if one person pulls down the backer, while the other smooth’s the image on the surface. You can use a plastic dry wall knife (like 6”-8”) OR the back of your hand to smooth out. The front of your hand has a lot of oils that can damage the inks in your mural, even when using the back of your hand to smooth the mural out it’s good to have them freshly washed or to use white cloth gloves. If there are any bubbles or wrinkles, you can lightly press or smooth them out, or just peel back that area and re-apply. Please Note: Pressing too hard will not damage the PhotoTex; however, it may cause your hands to gather ink (due to the natural oils on your hands), and could transfer from your hands onto another surface.

SUGGESTIONS

If a bubble re-appears over the next day or two, pressing and lightly rubbing can remove it. This can happen occasionally if oil, dirt, or dust is on your surface. Use a sewing pin to pop the bubble, and then smooth it out with your fingers in a circular motion. In the very rare instance that bubbles keep re-appearing, you may want to move your Peel N Stick to another area as there is something preventing the adhesive to stick. Most causes of bubbles are because the wall was painted within the last 30 days or cleaning chemicals where used prior. 

Vinyl - Removable or Semi-Permanent

SURFACE PREPARATION

All surfaces must be thoroughly cleaned before applying your vinyl graphics. Follow the instructions below for specific material cleaning procedures.

PLASTICS AND GLASS

Thoroughly wipe surface clean with a window cleaner. Remove any dried matter such as tape or glue with a single edge razor blade. If you are planning to use acrylic, remove the protective liner from the acrylic 24 hours prior to application vinyl graphic. This will allow any air bubbles (outgassing) to dissipate from the acrylic. If this is not observed you may find air bubbles form under your graphic within a couple of days..

PAINTED METALS AND BASE METALS

These surfaces may be cleaned with a solvent such as Naphtha, Xylol or Lacquer Thinner. Dry the surface with a lint free cloth before the solvent evaporates. Freshly painted surfaces should be dry for at least 72 hours prior to application of the vinyl graphics.

INTERIOR PAINTED SURFACES

Surfaces may be cleaned with any household cleaner such as Fantastic or 409. Wipe area clean and dry with a lint free cloth before applying the vinyl graphics. Freshly painted surfaces should be dry for at least 72 hours prior to application of the vinyl graphics.

TEMPERATURE REQUIREMENTS

The temperature of the room and the temperature of the intended surface should be between 45 and 90 degrees Fahrenheit for best results. Very high humidity (above 90 percent) may affect the application process.

THE GRAPHIC CONSISTS OF THREE SEPARATE PIECES:

• Transfer Tape
• Vinyl Graphic
• Paper Backing

1. After unrolling your vinyl decal. Allow to lay flat for 1 hour before installation.Using small tabs of masking tape, tack the graphic to the intended surface . This is to insure proper placement before the Paper Backing is removed.
2. Apply a single horizontal strip of 2" masking tape to the top of the graphic. The strip of should be split between the graphic and the intended surface with 1" on each side. This strip will be used as a hinge that will insure the graphic does not move during the application process.
   
   CAUTION: Do not let the exposed graphic touch the intended surface. The back of the graphic is very tacky and will tightly adhere to the surface. If the placement is not correct, removing the graphic for re-placement will be very difficult or impossible without causing damage to the vinyl.
   
   
3. Hold the bottom edge of the hinged graphic away from the intended surface and remove the liner to reveal the sticky backing of the vinyl. Save this piece of liner for use later in the application process.
4. While still holding the hinged graphic away from the intended surface. Using the squeegee and starting from the top, begin to marry the graphic to the intended surface.
   
   

   NOTES:

   • Work from top to bottom.
   • Do not let the entire graphic fall onto the intended surface.
     
     
5. Once the graphic is in proper position and lying perfectly flat on the intended surface, you can now start forcing the air out from beneath the graphic. Starting from the center working outward, use firm strokes with the squeegee OR credit card to force the air out from beneath the individual letters or elements contained in your graphic.
6. After all letters and elements have had most of the water squeegeed out from beneath them, it is now time to remove the pre-mask from the graphic and reveal the final product. To remove the pre-mask without difficulty, spray with water and soap mixture and wait a minute or two for the pre-mask paper to become soggy. Gently remove the pre-mask. Be careful not to pull the graphic up with the pre-mask paper.
7. Squeegee out any remaining water bubbles using the piece of left over liner. Lay the piece of left over liner over the graphic, with shiny side of liner facing you. Proceed to apply hard pressure to squeegee out.

1. Unpack your canvas and find the attached saw tooth hanger. Lay the canvas image side down on a smooth hard surface with the foam that comes with the canvas underneath.
2. Find the approximate center of the top bar of your canvas. With the saw side of the hanger facing the center of the canvas (smooth side parallel with the edge of the canvas) firmly press the two pointed ends of the saw tooth hanger directly into the wooden bar in the center of the wooden frame.
3. Hammer a nail into the wall leaving an 1/8th to a 1/4 inch of the head sticking out of the wall
4. Hang the canvas onto the nail on the saw tooth hanger. Choose which groove balances the canvas best and adjust until it looks straight.
   

Non-Adhesive Vinyl Banner

1. Unroll your Vinyl banner and lay flat for about 30 minutes to allow any creases to flatten before you hang it. If there are no creases, feel free to hang right away!
2. Your Vinyl banner will come with 4-8 metal grommet holes depending on the size of the banner.
   
3. Loop string, wire or thin rope through the top two corner metal grommet holes. It is best not to tie a knot around the grommets as this may wrinkle the banner surface. Instead tie the knots around the surface your are applying the banner too.
